Closing position overnight
During the assessment and funded phase, traders are not required to close positions over the weekend or overnight.
Hedging
Hedging is permitted and involves opening trades in both directions on the same instrument at the same time. This allows the simultaneous opening of both long (buy) and short (sell) positions for the same asset on the same account.
Please note that hedging with the intention of locking in a price/spread arbitrage is a prohibited trading strategy and will result in the closure of your account.
Please note that hedging across two The Funded Talent accounts is considered a prohibited strategy.
Recommended Risk Management
Some users engage in reckless demo trading practices that are not in line with the rules and are contrary to the risk management necessary in actual trading. These practices focus only on the potential large upside, disregarding the potential for losses. Examples of such practices include overexposure, turning over a large number of orders with an extremely risky strategy, and one-sided bets. We recognise that trading in this manner can appear to offer a swift and substantial return on investment. However, such strategies, frequently employed in conjunction with the opening of numerous accounts, are not a viable long-term plan for achieving sustainable profitability or positive outcomes. We reserve the right not to cooperate with clients who intentionally and systematically open one or a few sizeable trades or split them up into multiple smaller positions. This is because such conduct is in direct conflict with our values and contractual terms. Our clients who engage in similarly risky trading practices will also face consequences. In light of past experience, we advise that risking between 0.5% and 1% per trade is considered an optimal level of safety in risk management. We recommend that you apply this approach consistently across your funded phase accounts. The potential risks inherent in any given trade idea are evaluated based on the stop loss strategy or the maximum drawdown of the position(s) in question. Kindly note that a trade idea is defined as the overall exposure of a particular symbol (or correlated symbol) on an account at a specific point in time, or over a specified period.
Prohibited Trading Strategy
Prohibited trading strategies include:
The exploitation of unrealistic prices or trade opportunities, including arbitrage, latency, front-running price feeds and the exploitation of mispricing, for the benefit of the individual or entity involved.
Latency trading
Arbitrage trading
High-frequency trading
Reverse trading/group hedging
Spamming Order Book
Furthermore, account management services are not permitted. All accounts and trades must be conducted by the trader whose name is on the account. If you are unsure about the compliance of your Expert Advisor (EA) or manual scalping strategy, please create a free trial account in our dashboard and submit it for review and approval before proceeding with an assessment.
Is VPN & VPS allowed?
Yes, we do permit the use of VPNs (Virtual Private Networks) and VPS (Virtual Private Servers) in your trading activities. It is of the utmost importance to emphasise the necessity of protecting your account credentials.
Please note that group trading, whereby multiple traders access and trade the same account, is strictly prohibited.
Please note that engaging in group trading may result in the closure of your trading account.
It is therefore important to note that while VPNs and VPS are acceptable tools, they must be used responsibly and in compliance with our trading rules.
Our platform allows users to trade with multiple IP addresses and devices, provided that the trades are executed solely by the individual who has completed the KYC process and is the designated account holder.
Rules Violation
The consequences of rule violations are subject to variation. Some violations are classified as soft breaches and may result in a free retry during Stage 1 of the 2-step evaluation process. It is of the utmost importance to have a comprehensive understanding of the rules, objectives and requirements.
